Privacy
Nibi keeps everything on your PC.
Nibi has no telemetry, no accounts and no servers. It does not collect, sell or share anything about you, and nothing is sent to the developer. It listens only on your own computer (127.0.0.1), behind a random token, so only programs on your PC can talk to it.
What Nibi keeps, on your PC
- Event history: which tool, the project folder name, the state, the tool name and the time. Kept 14 days (you can change it), then deleted.
- Audit log: each rule, action, outcome and reason. Kept 90 days.
- Debug log: the same minimal events, capped at about 5 MB.
- Settings and rules: until you change or remove them.
- Secrets you add (a Vercel token, a calendar link, an AI key) are kept in Windows Credential Manager, never in a file.
All of it lives in %APPDATA%\Nibi. Nibi never stores your prompts, the agents' replies, tool inputs (commands, file contents, code, diffs) or window titles.
What the optional features send, and where
- Update check. Once a day Nibi asks GitHub (
github.com) whether a newer version exists, by reading a small public file. Nothing about you is in the request; GitHub sees an ordinary web request from your IP address. Switch it off in Settings. Updates install only when you press Install. - AI talk (off by default). If you switch it on, Nibi sends short event summaries only to the provider you pick, using your own key, or to a local model on your PC, in which case nothing leaves your computer. Never your prompts, code or the agents' replies. That provider's own privacy policy applies to what it receives.
- Send report. Opens a GitHub issue in your browser with the details filled in. Nothing is sent until you have read it, changed what you like and pressed Submit yourself. Issues on GitHub are public.
- Connections you switch on (GitHub CI through
gh, Vercel, DevPulse, a calendar feed) talk only to their own servers, with your own sign-in or token. - The MCP server for your agents is local and read-only. It answers only programs on your PC.
The one-command install (install.ps1) and Scoop download Nibi from GitHub and send nothing else.
How to delete your data
- Everything at once: uninstall Nibi (Settings → Apps → Nibi → Uninstall) and tick Delete the application data.
- Just the history: quit Nibi and delete the folder
%APPDATA%\Nibi. - Secrets: disconnect the service (or switch off AI talk and remove the key) in Nibi, or open Credential Manager → Windows Credentials and remove the entries for Nibi.
- A report you posted: close or delete the issue on GitHub.
